The Living Organ Donor Tax Credit Act would provide additional financial protection for living donors who do not qualify for another reimbursement program, such as the National Living Donor Assistance Center.
This bill would allow living organ donors who incur non-medical costs during their donation process (such as for travel or transportation) to claim those outstanding costs as a tax credit in the amount of those costs, but not to exceed $5,000.
More people would consider being a living donor if they knew their costs would be covered. The Living Organ Donor Tax Credit Act, along with the Living Donor Protection Act (LDPA) and Honor Our Living Donors (HOLD) Act, would help remove the financial concern and ensure living donors are not financially impacted by their donation.
Help ensure this bill gets the broad, bipartisan support it deserves by urging your federal representative to support it now.
