It is important that people with kidney disease and its risk factors have access to novel therapies that can help preserve kidney function, prevent kidney failure and reduce risk for kidney-related complications like cardiovascular disease. Kidney patients should not have to endure exorbitant out-of-pocket costs, jump over bureaucratic hurdles with insurance companies, or “fail first” on older, less effective therapies in order to access the drugs they need.
We call on ALL insurers, clinicians, and drug companies to work together to ensure that we have access to the life-saving therapies we need, when we need them. Our kidney health depends on it.
