An estimated 37 million Americans have kidney disease, with another 80 million at risk due to comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. Yet while Medicare spends almost a quarter of its entire budget on kidney patients, our national funding commitment to kidney disease research has barely outpaced inflation.
That’s why we’re asking you to join us in urging every Member of Congress to support greater investment in urgently needed federal kidney programs. With rates of kidney disease increasing over the last decade, our current funding levels won’t be sufficient.
Please take a moment to personalize your letter with your kidney disease story to make your letter even more impactful!
